Dare To Love – You are perfect just the way you are.

Over the Covid19 period, we realized the importance of life, loving ourselves and appreciating us for us. We hope to impact those who ever doubted themselves, those who struggled loving their bodies, and those who never saw the value of “you”.

In this new capsule named Dare To Love, be prepared to see bold colours alongside the tiger lily. Similar to what the tiger lily stands for, we want every woman to be reminded of how amazing and blessed they are, to encourage women of all shapes, sizes and colours to dare to love (themselves, their experiences and everything about them). To fall in love with yourself is the first secret to happiness. Everyone is beautiful in their own unique ways.

We had a chat with a few ladies from different walks of life to share their thoughts on self-love and self-acceptance.

Phuay Li Ying

Love is…?

“Love is… a proof of my beating heart!”

How has self love and self acceptance impacted your life?

“Embracing who I am, what I stand for and how different I am with others have given me the strength to pursue what I want. Sometimes, it takes even more to be different – so this has given me a lot of excitement and encouragement in life!”

What would you say to someone who is doubtful of themselves?

“Always look at the power of what you can do with confidence and optimism; you can smile, laugh, share, impact and inspire – that’s all the world needs. We are only human after all, there’s no perfection, and failure is just part of every journey.”

– Phuay Li Ying @phuayly, Founder of Ying The Label

Kate Low

Love is…?

“Love is what makes the world go round!”

How has self love and self acceptance impacted your life?

“It has made me live my life with an open heart and undoubtedly with way much less stress!”

What would you say to someone who is doubtful of themselves?

“You are feeling that at the moment. Feel it, embrace it, understand it, but do not hang onto it for far too long!”

Jade Kua

Love is…?

“Love is… what will get us through this.”

How has self love and self acceptance impacted your life?

“I don’t fit into any particular mold so it’s hard for people to fully understand me. I’ve learnt not to rely on others for validation and my goals do not depend on popular opinion. During difficult times, if I do not practice self-acceptance, it can be extremely bleak.”

What would you say to someone who is doubtful of themselves?

“We all feel a little doubtful from time to time but we should try to get out of the dark hole of rumination that leads us away from wisdom.

This is why I’ve found life coaching, a professional path I’ve chosen, is so helpful, because it evokes awareness and shines light on various other perspectives.”

Anna Haotanto

Love is…?

“Love is… accepting imperfections and embracing them.”

How has self love and self acceptance impacted your life?

“Most of us have been raise to achieve perfection with impossible standards. As I age and be more mature, I try to not be too critical of myself. As I accept myself, I realized I have the choice to think of my shortcomings as something I can work on, not to self-loathe. By accepting my weaknesses, I realise I can control how I feel and react to it. I tell myself to not focus on negativity. The moment I focus on all my shortcomings, I lose power.

Also, when I am in a negative mood, I try to exercise. Exercise helps to loosen you up. The release of endorphins makes you happier. And it’s good for you physically. The better you take care of your body, the further you can go.”

What would you say to someone who is doubtful of themselves?

“I have come to believe that caring for myself is not self-indulgent. Caring for myself is an act of survival.” – Anne Lorde “

Aggy Low

Love is…?

“Love is… life changing.”

How has self love and self acceptance impacted your life?

“I think self-love and self-acceptance is really important to help us lead our best lives with our goals and dreams. It’s true when they say love yourself first before you love others, because when you do so, you’re able to be your best self, have your best life, or even have the power to shift and transform not-so-ideal situations in your life and then be at your best to be able to love and help others that are in need. Overall your life will also be more wholesome and positive too and you will feel unbeatable with confidence and happiness!”

What would you say to someone who is doubtful of themselves?

“I think one of the biggest learning points I’ve had when I’m having a lot of self-doubts is accepting that it is ok and not feel bad or guilty about it. It’s important to acknowledge why you’re feeling this way and know it’s totally normal and okay to feel this way sometimes, as long as you’re able to pick yourself up along the way. I think it’s also important to learn to communicate with your loved ones how you feel so they can help talk you through to help you get out of your negative head space (if any!).”
